The Funny Things He Says

Ethan sits with us during church for everything but the sermon. When we have communion our Pastor says (as Jesus would say) "This is my body broken for you..." and he breaks a loaf of bread in half.

The other night, Ethan held up his Hawaiian roll, brought to us by a sweet lady from church, and said, "This is my body!" as he broke the roll in half.

Ethan's new favorite word is, "AMAZING!" Everything is amazing, his cereal is amazing, Evelyn is amazing, I am amazing.

The other day when Evelyn's diaper had leaked all over me, Ethan stared at my soak shirt and said,"It's amazing!"

I asked, "What is amazing?"

"The poop!" He exclaimed as only Ethan can. Then he looked surprised and said, "Th! I not supposed to say that word."

Very true, unless he needs a diaper that word is off limits entirely. For a while he wasn't allowed to use any word that started with p as an exclamation.

Ethan just loves Toy Story. The other night while I was tucking him into bed, I told him that he was my best best Ethan. He responded by throwing his arms around my neck and saying, "You're my, you've got a friend in me. Lets sing it."

We sang it, this is how it goes...

Ashley - "You've got a friend in me."

Ethan - "You've got a friend in me."

Then, because we don't know the res of the words, Ethan tucks his chin down to his chest, deepens his voice and says, "Some other folks, some other folks, some other folks."

Ethan was a little nervous about Evelyn on her first day home. He waited until We were busy to sit next to her. When he thought we weren't looking, he got very close to her and said, "Hi, Evelyn, you have no teeth."
