We have received some emails from some of you but were waiting to talk to the doctor today so we could send out all the latest news at once.


For those of you who haven't heard, Ashley has been diagnosed with mild pre-eclampsia and was put on "house rest". Still not sure what "house rest" exactly means...


The baby and Ashley are currently fine. All of the recent blood work and ultrasounds have come out "fabulous", as the doctor likes to say, but she still feels that mild pre-eclampsia is brewing. In the next few days, Ashley will be having more lab work done as well as another NST (Non-Stress Test) and a detailed ultrasound. Ashley will then meet with her doctor to find out what the next step is. There are three possibilities...


1. If the baby looks to be of good size on the ultrasound and Ashley's tests come out normal again, Ashley will enjoy more time on the couch on her left side watching re-runs and reading books. We will have more tests run later in the week and will go from there.


2. If the ultrasound shows that the baby is no longer growing at a normal rate, or if Ashley's tests come back abnormal we will have a baby.


3. If the ultrasound shows that the baby is still growing steadily but Ashley's tests show a rise in the pre-eclampsia we will have an amnio done to check for lung maturity. If the baby's lungs are mature we will probably schedule an induction by the end of the week and have a baby.


If at anytime Ashley experiences severe swelling, visual spots, head aches or pain in her right quadrant, we will immediately go to Labor and Delivery and have the baby.


So the good news of the day is nothing has changed and Ashley is continuing to baffle her doctor with low blood pressure readings daily and great blood work results. Plus, she gets to go to the Ventura County baby shower. We will know more by Tuesday if not sooner.

• Wisdom for the Doctors as they make decisions while balancing both Ashley's health and the baby's health


• No more pre-eclampsia symptoms
